I call LA home now, but Germany is where I was born and raised. Like you, I’ve always been passionate about my work.
Right after college, I started my first design company where I picked up BMW as one of my top clients. I spent 12 years working for them and other Fortune 500 companies, leading my team and developing skills in design context research, design strategy, brand development and project management. I also learned all about the stressors that came along with the fancy title and the fancy lifestyle.
The pressure from the outside world became a lot, and I got burnt out. My exhaustion was left ignored and eventually manifested into a breakdown.
You see: despite having built a highly successful design firm and having a life that looked perfect from the outside in, for some reason, I still didn’t feel like I had it all together.
I was sprinting a marathon, a pace that I could no longer keep up. The pressure became too much. I started treating myself like my business how could I perform better? This lead to excessive exercise and strict eating. I began to feel completely exhausted, restless, and unfulfilled.
Something had to change. I started to look within, moved to LA and poured everything into my bestselling book, Supercharged. It became my story about how I turned exhaustion into vitality.
My life is my message
and this has lead me to
understanding my purpose.
